Amanda joined U.S. Risk in August 2019 when the company acquired U.S. Brokers Network, who she joined in 2015 as an assistant to the agency. In 2017, she obtained her P&C producer license and has been working as an underwriter for professional liability (errors & omissions) ever since.
Amanda is an alumnus of the University of Missouri, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2012. In 2018, Amanda received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.

Vice President/Program Manager
Deborah Egel-Fergus is Vice President and oversees the Lawyers Professional Liability, serving firms in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona. She joined the company July 2018 after over 15 years at Travelers Insurance Company, where she was an Account-Executive Officer and Professional Liability Team Leader with bond and financial products. At Travelers, Ms. Egel-Fergus managed a $7 million lawyers professional liability book of business, consisting of two states in the South Central Region, and she handled excess lawyers E&O for the Northern California, Southern California, Midwest and Southwest regions of the U.S. Prior to joining Travelers, Ms. Egel-Fergus worked in property and casualty insurance since 1986 in various capacities for several major national companies, including TIG Specialty Insurance Company, Southern Risk Specialists Lexington an AIG subsidiary, and Bertholon-Rowland Corporation.
Ms. Egel-Fergus received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Music from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. She currently serves as Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS). Over the years Deborah has also served PLUS in other various capacities. She has served as a Director for the (PLUS) Foundation, on the national Events Subcommittee for PLUS, as well as served as Chapter Chair of the Texas Chapter PLUS in 2005, 2006, and 2007, and also as a member of the American Bar Association Conference Committee.

Dawn joined U.S. Brokers Network in 2016 as an underwriter and became part of the U.S. Risk team when the agency was acquired in 2019. She specializes in professional liability for retail insurance agents E&O. Dawn has been underwriting this line of business since 2013. Prior to writing casualty insurance, she worked in personal lines for 12 years writing and servicing P&C products.

Amanda joined the U.S. Risk Healthcare Pros team in October 2018, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She spent the first 10 years on the agency side as an account manager. In 2007, Amanda ventured into the MGA underwriting side of the business. She has worked both contract and brokerage, but has specialized in the program underwriting segment of insurance. She is highly knowledgeable in general liability, professional liability, abuse coverage, property, inland marine, auto and excess liability.
Jonathan has worked in the insurance industry since 2002 and specializes in all lines and classes of commercial insurance. He is experienced in construction related accounts and is focused on underwriting as well as brokerage placements for all lines of property and casualty coverage.
Jonathan earned a degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.

Director of Business Development
Since 2008, Gus has been a part of the staffing industry, both in business development and underwriting. He has executed high-performance strategies for driving insurance sales with both prospective and established accounts across multi-state regions, in addition to maintaining and growing revenue base through client retention initiatives. Gus is currently working towards RPLU designation.

Ray joined U.S. Risk in 2019 as a Senior Broker in the Houston office, after 10 years in the Lloyd’s of London market. He has over 35 years experience broking property and casualty lines for energy risks, prevalently oil and gas, from exploration and production through to refining and marketing. Due to the broad range of exposures inherent to the oil and gas industry, Ray’s experience embraces marine, transportation, construction and environmental. He has worked extensively with both domestic and international risks.
